2048 Events is proud to provide a platform for the young people of Northern Ireland to speak up and share their vision for the future.

With events, training and workshops, 2048 Events encourages the next generation of free thinkers to share their ideas on what it means to make positive change in their communities and beyond.

As Co-Founder of 2048 Events alongside Sinéad Lunny from Vocalis Public Speaking and Cormac Walsh from 4Voices, McCANN VA is the official event management partner of 2048: The Future Starts Now.

AN EVENT TO ENVISION THE FUTURE

Founded in 2023 to mark the 25th anniversary of the Good Friday Agreement, 2048: The Future Starts Now looks 25 years ahead to imagine our future.

Our inaugural event took place on 9th December 2023 and this year marked a second return to Stormont when, on 31st January 2025, 11 young women stood in the historic Senate Chamber to deliver their own powerful speeches on their vision for society.

Each speaker sparked meaningful conversations and left attendees feeling inspired and hopeful, including those who joined our global livestream tuning in from the UK, Ireland, Spain, the UAE, the US, Canada and beyond.

SETTING THE STAGE FOR CHANGE

Bringing an event of this scale to life meant months of planning and coordination. As event management partner, McCANN VA was involved in every aspect, from the initial concept to on the day set up and support.

Every decision was carefully planned to create a meaningful experience for speakers, attendees and the global audience tuning in on the day.

Our deliverables included:

  • Venue Scope & Management
    Stormont’s Senate Chamber was selected as a significant setting to host this event. Due to the high security nature of the parliament building, extra checks, site visits and protocols were followed to ensure the room would be available, accessible and suitable for our event setup.

  • Guest & Speaker Coordination
    With a diverse audience of teachers, mentors, business leaders and politicians, we handled invitations, managed RSVPs and ensured every guest had the information they needed to fully participate in the event.

  • Catering Management
    During the day’s event, catering and refreshments were provided to those in attendance. All dietary requirements were collected in advance and we worked with caterers to ensure every speaker and attendee was well taken care of throughout the day.

  • AV & Livestream Coordination
    At a public speaking event, the audio visual setup is crucial for an enjoyable experience. We worked closely with our AV team to oversee setup, troubleshoot potential issues and ensure seamless audio and visual quality for both in-person and online audiences.

  • Event Branding & Design
    Working closely with our branding and visual communications partners, we created custom screen and social media graphics, event information packs, certificates and pop up banners to build consistency and brand recognition among attendees and speakers on the day.

  • On the Day Event Support
    Éadaoin was on site overseeing the timeline of the day, making last minute adjustments and monitoring questions to make sure the event ran smoothly. From checking final AV settings to assisting speakers before they took the stage, our team was there every step of the way.

At McCANN VA, event management means more than logistics to us. It’s about creating experiences that leave a lasting impact.

Putting in months of work, including site visits, securing sponsorship, overseeing set up and providing on the day support to produce such an inspiring event drives us to continue making a difference.
